Smart people do dumb things.
Here’s the proof: How much money would you have right now if I gave you the ability to unwind any financial decision you have ever made?
It turns out that the key to getting rich (and staying that way) is to avoid doing stupid things. The vast majority of dumb tax in both our lives is a direct result of three things:
1. Generalizations (which kill clarity),
2. Obsessing about Oz (instead of the yellow brick road) and
3. Faulty assumptions (ignoring risk).
Here it is on a bumper sticker: Operators react and sweat. Owners think and plan.
It all hinges on Thinking Time.

I love how the tales give you the picture then the how's and why things do and don't work.
The one thing I absolutely love with this book is, you can pick it up and go to ANY page and immediately start reading it and pick up some useful advice straight away... you don't have to read it from front to back to get Keith's musing and how they all work. It is a matter of fact and full of great humor, book. Love Love Loved it!!

The author talks about how us humans tend to do some really dumb things, and when we do we pay a "dumb tax". And if we could just do a few less of these dumb things we'd have far more success in business and life!
I've paid my fair share of dumb tax - including one extremely dumb tax while having the author read me this book. I felt like he was calling me out right there on my folly but my unbridled optimism was too strong to exit the situation (before paying the dumb tax)
This book goes deep and I've made a plan to study it deeply this year AND implement the recommended "thinking time" to ask myself the hard questions that the author shares in this book.
I'm going to steal a great summary quote from another reviewer here on Amazon:
Here it is on a bumper sticker: "Life is tough... but is much tougher if you are stupid" Avoid being stupid!
Thank you Keith J Cunningham for writing this incredible book and sharing your wisdom with us. It will help to reduce the amount of dumb tax that I will pay in the 2nd half of my life AND reduce drama (that goes with paying such high taxes!)

Don't read the book unless you are willing to ask yourself some very uncomfortable questions and prepared to change.
